From February 14, 2010 -- Being Valentine's Day, we've pulled some scriptures of Love from God's word. See if you recognize these.
God loves you dearly and He’s spoken of Love so often in His Word. Love can be difficult, but God has given us clear and consise directions.
Love suffers long and is kind; Love does not envy; Love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
Love does not behave rudely; Love does not seek its own; Love is not provoked, Love thinks no evil
Love does not rejoice in iniquity
Love rejoices in truth, Love bears all things, Love believes all things, Love hopes all things,
Love endures all things; Love never fails
God is so good! His love to us shows us ways that we can express our love to each other.
For a woman to her beloved…
The voice of my beloved! Behold, he comes leaping upon the mountains, Skipping upon the hills.
My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag.
Behold he stands behind our wall; He is looking through the windows; Gazing through the lattice
My beloved spoke, and said to me; “Rise up my love, my fair one, and come away.
For lo the winter is past, the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth; the time of singing has come. And the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.
The fig tree puts forth her green figs and the vines with the tender grapes give a good smell.
Rise up my love, my fair one, and come away!
O my dove, in the clefts of the rock, In the secret places of the cliff,
Let me see your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet and your face is lovely.
And for a man to his bride…
You have ravished my heart, my sister, my spouse.
You have ravished my heart with one look of your eyes, with one link of your necklace.
How fair is your love, my sister, my spouse!
How much better than wine is your love, and the scent of your perfumes than all spices!
Your lips, O my spouse, drip as the honeycomb;  Honey and milk are under your tongue;
and the fragrance of your garments is like the fragrance of Lebanon
God tells us why we can have love for one another…
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
And God tells us of the importance of Love…
And now abide in faith hope love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
And God tells us who to Love…
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it; You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
So today, on Valentine’s Day, resolve to Love God, Love each other, Love your neighbor and live your life in Love toward all, just as Jesus taught us.
Because, as our Notable Quotable says,
Love, It’s What God Does.
